Editing assets

1. Indicator of the file in use

Buttons to select the version of the asset currently in use. The default version is a proxy file for faster access. In case the proxy is not created or is not available for some reason, the ONLINE (original) connection will be started automatically. Changing the version is also possible by clicking on the desired version.

3. Preview window

A window where you can view the selected asset.

4. Trimming line

The line that indicates the graphic representation of the duration of the asset and on which trimming is done. By moving the position of the red brackets (“”[” and “]”), we set the beginning and end of the part we want to use. Above the line, numbers are marked every few minutes of asset duration for easier orientation.

5. Graphic display of asset position – Head

A graphical representation of the position of the asset currently marked for viewing and trimming.

6. Controls

a) Buttons for setting IN and OUT points.

Just as it is possible to determine the start and end (IN and OUT) via the trim line (4), it is also possible to do this via these buttons by rewinding the asset to the desired position and clicking on the IN or OUT button.

b) Graphic display of the elapsed time of the asset that was played in the preview window and is being edited.

If we move the slider of the asset position (Head), the time of the current position of the slider will be displayed here.

c) Graphical representation of the total duration of the asset which is played in the preview window and which is being edited. When asset playback is paused, this button changes color from white to red.

d) Play button to play the selected asset in the preview window. When the asset is paused, the button will change color from gray to red.

e) Buttons for rewinding the selected asset 10 frames forward and backward.

f) Buttons for rewinding the selected asset 1 frame forward and backward.

g) Buttons for increasing and decreasing the size of the space for trimming assets.

7. IN time

If we set IN POINT on the trimming line (4), by moving the bracket (“”[“), the IN POINT position of the asset will be displayed in this field (time relative to the original asset).

8. DUR time

If we marked the IN and OUT POINT for trimming, this field will show the total duration of the trimmed asset.

9. OUT time

If we set the OUT POINT on the trimming line (4), by moving the brackets (“]”), the OUT POINT position of the asset will be displayed in this field (time relative to the original asset).

10. Asset Information

This field contains the name of the asset currently selected for editing, as well as three tabs for viewing and editing data: Technical, Meta and CG.

Technical

a) Categories

Clicking on this button opens the window for editing categories, which is described in the rest of the document.

b) Production

Clicking on this button opens the production allocation window:

 

I) Line with the name of the production

By double-clicking on the name of the production, we can change it. By clicking on this line and then on the “SET” button, we will set the selected production for the asset.

II) “+” and “-” buttons

“+” – By clicking this button, we will add a new production to the list of productions.
“-“ – By clicking on this button, we will delete the selected production.

III) Cancel and Set buttons

Cancel – By clicking this button, we will cancel the production selection.
Set – By clicking this button we will save the selection.

c) Commercial button

By clicking this button, we will mark the selected asset as an advertisement.

d) Music button

Clicking this button will mark the selected asset as music.

e) Export to EPG/Next

By clicking on this button, we determine whether we want the asset to be exported to EPG/Next or not.

f) Information

A window containing information about the selected asset.

Meta

a) Name of performer and author
b) Keywords
c) Additional information about the musical asset

If it is an asset that contains multiple music tracks, the report needs to define which artists, tracks, and track authors are within the asset.

d) Description of assets

CG

a) The text that will be written in the first, second and third lines of the graphic element
b) The manner in which asset issuance will begin (transition)
c) Space for specifying the background if the asset is used with the graphic element SQUZEE (compression)

NOTE: Option a,b,c is used only if D.Play (playout) is used for broadcasting. In other cases, it will have no effect.

11. Segment Information

Within this field there are 4 columns:

Seg – Serial number of the segment
In – The position of the IN POINT (time relative to the original asset) of the segment
Out – The position of the OUT POINT (time relative to the original asset) of the segment
Major – Total duration of the selected segment

12. Set Break, Remove and Clear All

Set break – Clicking this button will start creating a segment.
Remove – Clicking this button will remove the selected segment.
Clear All – Clicking this button will remove all created segments.

15. Create subclip

When we specify the IN and OUT POINT within the asset and click the “SET” button, every time we insert that asset into the broadcast list it will start from the IN POINT and end at the OUT POINT.
If we do not want that asset to always be “trimmed”, we need to click on the button “Create subclip” and in this case a new asset will be created (with the same name with the addition “trimmed”) which will have IN and OUT POINT, and the original asset will remain unchanged.

16. Export frame

By clicking on the export frame button, we can create an image from the currently positioned frame in the asset preview window (3). Clicking on the button will open the image capture window. Layout of the recording window images is described in Asset overview paragraph 7.

17. Cancel and Set

Cancel – By clicking this button, we cancel the changes we made in the edit window.
Set – By clicking this button, we will save the changes we made in this window.
